Wednesday Quickie: Jazzing up a Teen's Car

Welcome to another Wednesday Quickie. This week we tackled a quick project for our teen girl's car. Now her car is what most people would call a beater. She is 17, and we didn't want to spend a lot of money on her first car. You never know if they are going to total it in the first month (like hubby did when he was 16), so we didn't want to spend a small fortune. It is dependable and reliable, and actually good on gas mileage. But she is a girl, and a dancer at that, so it was not "flashy" enough for her anymore. She has had the car a year now, so we decided that she can now have a little fun with it.

This project cost her under $8 for two cans of spray paint. She chose Tiffany blue for the under color, and a glitter silver for the plastic hub cap. With the help of her Dad, they took each tire off, took the plastic off and spray painted each one. It took about an hour to get them all done. As he was putting each tire back on, she squealed louder and louder.

She is happy with how they turned out and is already thinking of how to change them up again next summer. It's the little things that tend to make us the happiest.

I am sharing this post with all of these lovely bloggers.

  1. As the mother of someone who just recently got his first car, I couldn't resist clicking your link from Someday Crafts. This is such a great idea! It is amazing what a little color can do.
